The Karakasevic family carries on the heritage of 12 generations. Miles, who was born & trained in Europe, is one of the few Master Distillers in America with a European distilling background. In 1983, Miles & Susan Karakasevic started Charbay to establish a quality & style that most winemakers/distillers only dream of. Marko, their son, is generation 13 to carry on the family heritage.

When you visit, you'll step into the world of independent artisan winemaking & distilling. Stand beside the family's Alambic Brandy Stills on Spring Mountain and hear the story of distilling as they share their adventures, knowledge and enthusiasm.

As distillers, Miles and Marko have been recognized as early pioneers in the modern American artisan distillery movement & as top innovators. In 1998 they launched their flavored vodka series made with whole fresh fruit & started the international flavored vodka craze.
